Piumi Botheju is one of Sri Lankan Famous teledrama actress. She became well famous with the ITN 'Paba' mega teledrama with the role of Himali. Later she appeared in vasuda mega teledrama also. She played one of the main role in Wasuda teledrama. Piumi botheju participated the New Year festival 'Aurudu Kumari' contest in 2001 and was able to crowed as Lakhada Aurudu Kumari .
Later she was engaged with lakhada Radio station as a trainee announcer. Piumi studied in two schools and she did her primary education at Dharmapala Vidyalaya at Pannipitiya. After her Ordinary exam she has gone to Gothami Balika Vidyalaya for Advance Level Examination.

Piumi got married to a Sri Lankan who was working and living in Japan. The affair began through one of her family menber's proposal and they managed to talk each other through Skype. However according to media gossips Piumi was to be married to the popular sinher Harsha Bulathsinghala. The couple had announced their relationship to the media also but all of sudden they were seperated. Harsha Bulathsinghala also got married to another girl later. After the marriage of Piumi and the Sri Lankan who lived in japan, were not to be seen living together after the wedding. Piumi Botheju told to the newspaper interview when ask about her husband that, he has gone back to the Japan for work.
Later many websited started reporting that Piumi's marriage has come to an end. It is also reported that a lawyer who is famous for resolving divorce cases of actresses have undertaken Piumi's case. However Piumi Botheju denied all of these rumors. But now for a recent newspaper article she has revealed the truth and said ' yes I have received the divorce certificate' and there's no point of living separately after the marriage and our ideas also contradict to each others. Piumi further said Begin a newly married women I too want to receive the love and care from my husband.
